Director, Portfolio Prep and Art Foundations Class Instructor
Mrs. Kim is the new director of OpenArt Studio. She earned her B.F.A in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art. She also holds an A.A.S degree in Visual Communication Design from NVCC. She started teaching art and design fundamentals for the Portfolio Prep class at OpenArt Studio in 2011 and continues to work with many of the Portfolio Prep students. She also has been working as a graphic design freelancer in Virginia and Georgia.
Ms. Han is an Expressionists class instructor and Expressionists class coordinator of OpenArt Studio. A graduate from NVCC, Ms. Han holds a A.A in Fine Arts. She is an experienced children’s art instructor who has given many private art lessons to young children in the past.
Ms. Lee is a graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art with a B.F.A in Painting. Passionate about teaching art, she has had experience as an art instructor and has worked closely with children to encourage self-expression as well as their enthusiasm for creativity and imagination. She is also a professional painter, and her art works were exhibited in These Are Them, Jordan Faye Contemporary in Baltimore.
Founder, Former Director
Mr. Lee earned his M.F.A. from Yale University School of Art and his B.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art. He attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Yale University Norfolk Summer School of Art. He was previously an Adjunct Professor of Painting and Drawing at George Mason University and a Juror for the 2005 Regional Scholastic Art Competition. He founded OpenArt Studio in 2006 and continued to teach many of the portfolio prep classes until 2016 summer.
